Leadership Learning Community
The Leadership Learning Community (LLC) at UConn is a dynamic, inclusive space for students from any major who are eager to grow as leaders. Through small seminars, retreats, peer-led discussions, and experiential opportunities, students explore leadership theory, reflect on their own values, and develop practical skills that align with UConn’s broader mission. The LLC helps students build a strong network of peers, faculty, staff, alumni, and community partners—supporting their journey as engaged, ethical, and socially responsible leaders. Open to incoming first-year students and rising sophomores, the community is based in Eddy Hall in the Alumni Quadrangle and is led by LC Director Trisha Hawthorne-Noble.
The community built on the residential floor supplements the classroom experience. Members of the LLC socialize, study, and support one another within the community. The LLC is further supported by:
- Two Residence Assistants
- Two Live-in Student Mentors
First year students take an introductory UNIV 1810 course (1 credit) while non-first year students take an UNIV 3820 course (1 credit) during the Fall and Spring. Topics include:

UNIV 3820
