Campus Partnerships

Leadership and Organizational Development is committed to collaborating with campus partners to facilitate educational and experiential initiatives that fosters leadership within students across various disciplines and programs at the University of Connecticut. You can learn more about some of our current partnerships below.
Future Leaders

The Future Leaders program is designed to augment a student's major or career path through collaborations with faculty in the various schools and colleges on campus. Futures offers workshops on topics such as StrengthQuest, communication, ethical decision making, and more, all with a focus on students' particular major or field of study. Facilitators encourage students to make connections between their leadership skills and their academic pursuits, thus increasing awareness of leadership challenges and opportunities in their field. Our current collaborations are with the Future Pharmacy Leaders program.

Husky LEADS

The purpose of Husky LEADS (Lead, Elevate, and Develop Student-Athletes) is to foster an empowering, participative, and inclusive environment for all student-athletes - outside of their sport - while developing a deeper understanding of leadership. Participating Student-Athletes are leaders from each of the intercollegiate teams at the University of Connecticut and take part in a semester-long series of workshops on topics such as values, leaving a legacy, leadership theories and styles, etc. Husky LEADS is a collaboration with the Division of Athletics. YSEALI & SUSI

Each year in collaboration with YSEALI and SUSI, we provide intentional leadership development workshops and experiential learning programming. Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) and Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) are grant funded initiatives and programs in the U.S. for participants from other countries. These initiatives are delivered by the Global Training and Development Institute and are designed to expose students to topics such as leadership, entrepreneurship, and economic development.
