Joe Briody, LLC Director

Joseph Briody, Associate Director of Leadership, also serves as the LLC Director. In his role as Associate Director of Leadership Development, Dr. Briody oversees a broad portfolio of leadership programs and has over thirteen years of experience teaching individual and organizational leadership. Dr. Briody holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education, a Masters in Education, and a B.A. in Accounting.

Krista O’Brien serves as Coordinator of Leadership Programs. Krista oversees a dozen leadership development programs at UConn. She received her Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs from UConn, and two B.A.s in Government & International Politics and Conflict Analysis & Resolution from George Mason University.

Thomas Krumel serves as the Graduate Assistant for the Leadership Learning Community. He is pursuing his Ph.D. in Economics; his research and teaching interests relate to Game Theory and Regional Economics. Thomas holds a BA in International Studies from Mount Union College, an MA in Economics from the University of Akron and a Masters in GIS from the University of Minnesota.

Dave Cavallaro serves as the Residence Hall Director for Brock and Eddy Halls in the Alumni Quadrangle.  Within Dave’s role as a Hall Director he works closely with the student staff and LC to provide a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for growth and development.  Dave holds a BA in History from Saint Michael’s College and a M.Ed. in Counseling from Providence College.

Sophia Rubino is a junior, currently serving as a mentor for the Leadership Learning Community. Sophia is pursing a degree in Allied Health Sciences with a concentration in Healthcare Administration. After graduation she plans on attending graduate school to then get a job working in the healthcare field.

Chanwon Pio Yoon (goes by Pio) is a junior and spent his first two years in the LLC and is now an LLC mentor on the fifth floor. Double majoring in political science and sociology and did an internship this summer at the Hartford Judicial Court for the support enforcement services. Plans on going to law school after graduation.

Codi Bierce is a junior Resident Assistant in the LLC. She is a junior, sociology major and WGSS minor, with interest in pursuing a career in student affairs. This is her first year in the LLC, after transferring from another Learning Community.

Otis L. Rackley II is a sophomore Resident Assistant in the LLC. He is in the College of Liberal Arts and Science pursuing a major in actuarial science.  He has been in the Leadership Learning Community for one year and is originally from New Jersey.
